News:
Team Novo Nordisk
Team Novo Nordisk began as a grassroots initiative to motivate people to take control of their diabetes using cycling as a platform. It grew to become a world-class athletic program for athletes with diabetes, including a professional men’s cycling team, poised to compete at the Tour de France. Today, it is a global sports organization changing the lives of people with diabetes around the world through racing, groundbreaking research, international outreach and philanthropic initiatives in developing countries:
The Team Novo Nordisk athletes compete in many high profiles events worldwide from the Race Across America to the major tours of professional cycling. The Professional Men’s Cycling Team is getting closer to their mission of earning a coveted position in the Tour de France. The Team Novo Nordisk Team will continue the organization’s trans-continental history with a yearly RUN Across America. The Women’s Cycling team, Triathlon Team, Development Team, Elite Team and Team Type 2 are also competing on the largest stages of domestic racing to raise awareness, change perceptions and inspire the worldwide diabetes community to properly manage diabetes and live a healthier life.

Lee Ann of Diabetes art Day has a new project:
Voice~Insulin~Art~Life is open for registration! It’s a social media website for people with type 1 diabetes and food & body issues to connect and share their creativity – art, photography, creative writing, and all other original creative work. The website is part of Lee Ann’s doctoral pilot study to explore website users’ experience of having type 1 diabetes and food & body issues, disordered eating behaviors, or a diagnosed eating disorder, and their experience of using arts-based expression on a social media platform to connect with each other and cope with their conditions.
Our Guest Chris Angell
Chris was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 30, and as we’ve heard with many diagnosed later in life, he and his doctor originally thought he had type 2 diabetes. With the type 2 treatments not doing anything to help him feel better, he and his doctor then realized he had type 1 diabetes.
Chris will share that story, the process of starting Glucolift and maybe even a little about a deep fried Twinkie. Join us.
