After Thoughts: The T1D Global Diabetes Initiative – Marjorie’s Fund (Jason Baker & Sandy Narayanan)

On March 7, 2013 by Scott K. Johnson

Dr. Jason Baker was in medical school when he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. He’ll tell you it was a life changing experience in more ways than one. His diagnosis steered his path towards endocrinology, and his love for international medicine, even pre-diagnosis, pulled him towards efforts abroad.

Sandy was actually a patient of Jason’s, and talking with him about working to improve the state of diabetes care they found mutual interest and quickly decided to join forces. Sandy has an impressive background with diabetes as well as health and fitness training, and she is currently working on her masters of public health and nutrition.

It was really fun to hear about their journey, and all that they are trying to do. We’ll keep an eye on these guys, and are happy to help them with whatever they need.
