After Thoughts: Ethan Lewis

On January 18, 2013 by Scott K. Johnson

It was a blast chatting with Ethan. We heard about his diagnosis and growing up with diabetes, including his college years which created some interesting diabetes experiences. Those experiences helped him open up about his life with diabetes and talk with people about what it is and what it means.

The story of Level foods is a fun one, which includes what Ethan describes as “serial entrepreneurship” in the food business and a real distaste for the old (and expensive) glucose gels. Looking for better options that are affordable, that taste good, and that are medically appropriate for treating low blood sugars.

We laughed when hearing about the discovery phases of Level, picturing Ethan creating huge vats of glucose gel that turned out tasting terribly and having to scratch the whole batch.

It was an enjoyable show, and a real treat getting to know Ethan better. I hope you’ll share some time with us and listen to the show.
