You’re Invited to attend the World Diabetes Day Twitter Chat

I cannot believe it is almost the middle of November, which is National Diabetes Awareness Month. I crossed out national because there are other people around the world celebrating National Diabetes Awareness Month, not just people in America. I like to think of it as World Diabetes Month. We all know there are a lot of amazing initiatives going on both on and offline. Amy wrote a great post about them here, go check out and get involved.

A year ago, the DSMA Team and myself thought it would be a great idea to host a 15-24 hour twitter chat during WDD. A few things have changed since then; there are three new twitter chats and one on the horizon. It is amazing to see how much diabetes twitter chats as grown over the past 3-4 months. I emailed 15 friends to see if they were interested in hosting, and the response was phenomenal.


World Diabetes Twitter Chat:

Purpose: Global twitter chat for World Diabetes Day, and to raise diabetes awareness

Objective: Global conversation about various topics as it relates to diabetes around the world.

How to participate, the World Diabetes Day twitter chat will begin at 6 am EST and end at 11 pm EST on November 14, 2012. The hosts, topic, and schedule can be found here. You can join the conversation by following the hosts twitter account, please make sure you include the hashtag #WDDChat12.
