After Thoughts: Mary Podjasek

On November 30, 2012 by Scott K. Johnson

What an honor to talk with Mary.  Through the work of the Diabetes Scholars Foundation, she is changing lives, one family at a time.

We talked about how diabetes first entered her life, and how that eventually evolved into what she’s doing today.  The Diabetes Scholars Foundation serves in many ways.

They help get families and young adults to Friends for Life and other CWD regional conferences.   They also provide college scholarships to students with type 1 diabetes.  As 2012 draws to a close, they will have awarded over $500,000 in college scholarships!  What an amazing accomplishment, and it’s still growing.

We hope you’ll listen to the show to learn more about Mary and her amazing group.  You’ll also learn about ways you can help the foundation (there are many more ways than just donating).
