After Thoughts: Bea

On April 13, 2012 by Scott K. Johnson

Boy did we cover a LOT of ground in this episode.  Listening to the show, you’d be surprised to know that Bea told us she was shy and might not be comfortable talking so much.  I didn’t hear one shy bone in her body.  I heard passion, empowerment, strength, courage, and incredible resilience.

I loved that we spent so much time on the emotional side of life with diabetes, and the stigmas that sometimes come with that part of the package.  We also ventured into some of the cultural aspects of Bea’s experience with diabetes, and what that meant to her.

I think we even convinced her to publicly announce something that she’s been thinking about and collaborating with Cherise on…

All in all, this was one of the best episodes we’ve ever done, and I hope you’ll share some time with us to check it out.
