  • Q1. Creative outlets are important for letting the diabetes stress out. What are your creative outlets?

    - I wouldn’t say I have any creative outlets for relieving stress from Diabetes. I just rant until I feel better. I have a blog but I rarely post anymore…even then, it’s really just ranting. Ha-ha.

Q2. What creative outlets of others impact you the most? Vlogs? Poems? Paintings? Songs? Sock puppets?

    - Umm..undecided.

Q3. Describe the toughest part of diabetes in just three words.

    - Dealing with Stereotyping.

Q4. Describe the most inspiring part of life with diabetes in four words.

    - Living with it.

Q5. Get creative: Your local bakery created a new cupcake specifically for PWDs. They asked you to name the flavor. What would you name it?

    - If it’s just for Diabetics, which means it’s got little sugar or gross sugar replacements…so I’d call it “Flavourless Chemicals”. I eat goddamn regular cupcakes..if someone came to me and said they made a cupcakes JUST for diabetics, I’d probably tell them to stop stereotyping me and handle me a goddamn regular cupcake.

Q6. Get creative: There’s a new perfume – Eau de Diabetes. What does it smell like?

    - Something sweet. Cuz we’re pretty awesome and sweet.

Q7. Get creative: There’s a box of 64 Crayola crayons with a diabetes theme! What are the crayon colors named?

    - Holy cow, I’m not awake enough to answer that.

    - “I CAN touch that”

    - Syringes, lancets, insulin, medication bottles and test strips.

Q10. Get creative: There’s a chance to make the ultimate diabetes-friendly menu. What’s on it?

    - Regular food that’s on “normal people” menus…because I eat the same foods as everyone else. The only difference is that everything would have the grams of carbs information next to it.
