After Thoughts: Dustin Iris

Mr. DeeJay, rocking a sweet Ninjabetic t-shirt!

What is live radio without a few technical hiccups? We managed to lose small sections of the show mid-stream, but it all seemed to come back together by the end of the show.

We talked with DeeJay about his scary diagnosis story, his testing the water with twitter, finding Kerri, and stumbling into the huge web of love and support that is the Diabetes Online Community (the DOC), which inspired him to start his own blog, DeeJay’s ‘Betes.

We talked about the support of the DOC going beyond just diabetes, with Mike spearheading a fundraising effort to help DeeJay’s family after hurricane Irene flooded their home.  We talked about love and happiness, and heard from his special lady.

We talked about food and diabetes, and while that is a meaty subject (pardon the corny pun…), DeeJay helped us keep things upbeat and lighthearted.

Thanks for a great show DeeJay!  And thank you all for tuning in!
